Carole joins struggling Rovers

Tranmere have signed former Leeds United winger Seb Carole on a short-term deal, skysports.com understands. Rovers boss John Barnes has moved to bolster his squad with the Prenton Park outfit struggling at the wrong end of the League One table. The Frenchman moves to the Merseyside club as a free agent having been released by Leeds midway through last season before a brief spell with Darlington and then ending the term with former club Brighton. Carole, who can operate on either flank, has put pen to paper on an initial contract until January and will be keen to earn a longer-term deal. Barnes will be hoping that the arrival of the wide-man can kick-start his side's season following a run of five successive defeats. Tranmere have found the net on just six occasions this term and Carole has been brought in to provide greater ammunition for Barnes strikers.
