Arjen Robben's knee injury is not as serious as first feared and the Bayern Munich winger could be back in four weeks.
The Holland international limped out of Bayern's 0-0 draw with Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
After the match, coach Louis van Gaal expressed his concern that the former Chelsea and Real Madrid man was facing a long spell out with a 'serious' problem.
However, a thorough examination of Robben's right knee discovered only a minor ligament tear and he will undergo surgery in the next 24 hours in Augsburg.
According to Bayern's official website website, he will be ruled out of action for up to four weeks.
Van Gaal was, though, impressed with his side's performance against the Bianconeri.
"I think that we have not played a single game this season as well as the first half," said the Dutchman.
"We had plenty of gilt-edged chances, but did not score. That is a shame, but if we keep playing like this, then it is only going to be a matter of time."
Meanwhile, Franck Ribery is a doubt for Bayern's home game with Cologne on Saturday as he has a recurring knee injury which he aggravated against Juve.
