West Brom striker Roman Bednar has accused Crystal Palace players of calling him a 'drug dealer' in the wake of his three-month suspension.
The Czech was handed a back-dated ban after the FA finished an investigation into allegations that he had been caught buying recreational drugs.
Bednar has now served his suspension and has returned to football, but he has been shocked by the treatment he received from some Palace players.
The Baggies lost at Selhurst Park in September and Bednar claims he came in for verbal abuse from opposition players, with captain Shaun Derry singled out.
"Crystal Palace were disgraceful," he said.
"It was seven of them at me for the whole game. They were shouting, 'you are a drug dealer' and another said, 'have you got any drugs?'
He added in The Sun: "That was really disappointing - particularly the captain, Shaun Derry, who was the worst."
Bednar accepts he is likely to be targeted by the opposition, but is adamant that he will be able to handle the attention.
He said: "It was like, 'wow'. I was very disappointed. They (Palace) were the first, so I was disappointed. Now, I'm ready for it.
"I can handle the players but I will have to live with it for a while longer. I don't want people to forget. It will be with me for the rest of my life."
