Wales' preparations for their World Cup qualifier against Finland have been dealt another untimely blow.
John Toshack has seen his squad decimated by withdrawals ahead of Saturday's encounter, with David Cotterill the latest to pull out.
The Sheffield United winger has been allowed to head home for personal reasons, with his wife believed to be ill.
As if that was not enough, Nottingham Forest striker Rob Earnshaw is also a major doubt for the weekend fixture.
He damaged a calf in training on Friday and the Wales medical staff are far from optimistic regarding his chances of shaking off the problem in time to feature against the Finns.
Consolation
Should Earnshaw fail to make it, Toschack will be left with just 13 outfield players from which to choose, plus his three goalkeepers.
"This seems to be never ending," he said.
"We lost Danny Gabbidon, Joe Ledley and Sam Ricketts within 24 hours before we left Cardiff.
"Now David has had to go home, and Earnshaw is also a real doubt now. He may be fit enough to sit on the bench.
"My only consolation is that the team I had to play when we left Cardiff is still intact."
