St Mirren have been boosted by the news that striker Craig Dargo will not be on the sidelines for as long as initially feared.
Dargo scored in the 3-1 weekend win over Falkirk before having to leave the field early after dislocating his shoulder.
Manager Gus MacPherson feared the 31-year-old could be out for some time, however, he has received good news from the consultant.
The striker has only suffered soft-tissue damage and MacPherson is hopeful Dargo will now only spend three weeks on the sidelines.
"We've had good news about Craig and we are hopeful it will just be three weeks he's out for," explained MacPherson.
"The consultant said Craig just needs to do a rehab programme and he'll be fine. It is just a soft-tissue injury but the diagnosis is positive.
"Although he made a major contribution against Falkirk by scoring he was down afterwards because of the injury but it's good news he won't be out for too long.
"After scoring in back-to-back games hopefully he'll return soon and do so again."
