Tim Cahill has been named in the Australia squad for a game against Oman in November, despite a hectic schedule.
The 29-year-old Everton midfielder has endured a heavy workload of late, having played in all but two of the Toffees' matches so far this season, and manager David Moyes has reservations about him linking up with the Socceroos again.
Moyes has voiced concerns that Cahill is in danger of suffering burn-out, having been a regular for Australia during their 2010 World Cup Qualifiers and Asian Cup commitments.
Aussie coach Pim Verbeek has also named Everton's Lucas Neill in the 23-man squad for the Asian Cup match on 14th November, as well as Blackburn's Brett Emerton and Fulham's Mark Schwarzer.
Australia and Oman both have four points in Group B of the Asian Cup qualifiers, with the top two teams from the group progressing to the finals in Qatar.
Australia squad to play Oman:
Mark Schwarzer (Fulham), Brad Jones (Middlesbrough), Adam Federici (Reading); David Carney (FC Twente), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leeds United), Mark Milligan (Shanghai Shenua), Craig Moore (Brisbane Roar), Lucas Neill (Everton), Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough), Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow), Scott Chipperfield (Basel); Jason Culina (Gold Coast United), Brett Emerton (Blackburn Rovers), Brett Holman (AZ Alkmaar), Mile Jedinak (Antalyaspor), Harry Kewell (Galatasaray), Carl Valeri (Grosseto), Mark Bresciano (Palermo), Tim Cahill (Everton); Josh Kennedy (Nagoya Grampus) Bruce Djite (Genclerbirligi), Dario Vidosic (Nurnberg), Mile Sterjovski (Perth Glory).
