West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami has revealed his team have been given a confidence boost after their win over Aston Villa.
The Hammers take on Everton in the Premier League on Sunday after a last-gasp win over Villa in midweek, with the Toffees on a poor run of form after suffering a number of injuries.
Swiss international Behrami, who suffered a serious leg injury last season, admits he was nervous in the dying minutes against Villa, but says the win has lifted the spirits at Upton Park.
"We had gone a long time without a win," he said in the Daily Star. "It was a great feeling, everyone was excited, an unbelievable moment.
"It was a great feeling to win a game after a long time and fantastic to be there. Everyone is very happy.
"Every time we have been close to a win we have conceded a goal and everyone has been disappointed. Maybe we have learned.
"We just carried on playing, we tried to fight for every ball and deserved a bit of luck. It is our time now."
The win was West Ham's first victory since the opening day of the season, and it eased the pressure on Gianfranco Zola's struggling side.
"There have been a lot of games that we haven't deserved to lose," Behrami added.
"Villa could have been a draw but we won. This is great.
"We are a little bit more confident for Everton. Maybe the crowd are also more confident in us.
"We understood before if they were not very happy when we were not winning. Everyone has to be patient with us and support us.
"The team has to gee the crowd up. If the crowd sees every player run and every player challenge for the ball, then they will believe in what we are doing."
