Charlton have signed Sheffield Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
Owls boss Brian Laws is happy to loan out Sodje so that he can play first team football and build match fitness.
The 28-year-old has been limited to substitute appearances for the Owls this season and Laws feels Sodje will benefit from a loan switch to the League One club.
"We all know that Akpo can be a real threat when he is on top form and I think a loan move could get him back to his best," Laws told the club's
official website.
Sodje will link up with brother Sam at The Valley and Addicks boss Phil Parkinson admits the move could be made permanent if he impresses during his one-month stint at the League One outfit.
"Akpo's contract is up in the summer, so it's a chance for us to look at him and him to look at us," said Parkinson.
"He gives us a physical presence up front, and as everyone knows, given the recent injuries, we're short in that department, so Akpo can help us through the next important period.
"He's from the local area, and obviously Sam is here already, so he was very keen to come and we're looking forward to working with him."
