Nemanja Vidic is confident Sir Alex Ferguson's touchline ban will not have an adverse affect on the team during matches.
The Manchester United boss was fined £20,000 and banned for two games with a further two matches suspended until the end of next season for his comments made about referee Alan Wiley.
The Scot will be absent from the touchline for the clash with Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday and the trip to Portsmouth the following week.
However, Vidic believes the manager's absence will not be felt too strongly as all the players know the roles they have to fill.
"We have big games coming up, especially after Chelsea moved five points ahead of us and now the next three or four games are very important to us," he told
Sky Sports News.
"I hope we show the character to win the games without him (Ferguson).
"But we know what is waiting for us and what he expects of us and nothing changes. During the game you are focused and you don't look over to the bench.
"In that aspect I don't think there will be a big difference. Everything he sees he will have contact with the second coach and he will be there."
Confident
United team-mate Park Ji-sung, who goes head-to-head with Vidic when South Korea take on Serbia in a friendly at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, believes the champions can overhaul the five-point deficit that now separates themselves and Chelsea at summit.
"It is still a long season but we know we have to get over it [the Chelsea defeat]," he said.
"There are still many games left in the season. Our performance was good [at Stamford Bridge] but it was 1-0 and that was a shame.
"But we can still get better and improve and then we are very confident. So we can still win the title."
