Walter Smith has admitted that Madjid Bougherra might not be able to play for Rangers against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
The Algerian defender completed 90 minutes for his country in their World Cup qualifying defeat to Egypt on Saturday.
The 2-0 scoreline left the teams with identical records and Algeria and Egypt must now meet again in a sudden death play-off in Sudan on Wednesday night.
Having missed so much action due to injury in recent weeks, Rangers manager Smith is reluctant to ask too much of Bougherra.
"It's one of those things we could have been doing without, and I dare say Madjid could be doing without it as well," said Smith.
"I haven't heard yet how he has got through the game or if his injury has caused him any problems.
"We'll obviously have to see how he is, considering the fact he'll have been away nearly a fortnight.
"He has not played for two or three weeks prior to that. So, having two games in such a short space of time, having not played much, it might be asking a bit much of him to be involved in Saturday's game."
17-year-old Danny Wilson has performed admirably in his first three senior appearances and Smith is confident he will continue to prove an able deputy.
"He has done very well indeed," Smith told Rangers World. "When a young player does get an opportunity, they are bound to grab it.
"Danny was ready to show us what he can do. He was a bit unfortunate not to get a show slightly earlier in the season.
"Now he is in for the first time and he has played very well indeed."
Meanwhile, Rangers have decided to take their full allocation of 2,200 tickets for their UEFA Champions League trip to play Sevilla on 9th December.
The Gers have been fined £18,000 and ordered to pay costs to Unirea Urziceni after elements of their travelling crowd rioted at the Ghencea Stadium in Bucharest.
Reports had suggested the club would consider turning down their ticket allocation as a result of that trouble, but the club have confirmed they would be accepting the ticket offer from the Spanish side.
