Stuttgart manager Marcus Babbel has disciplined another of his players with Jens Lehmann the latest to incur his wrath.
Days after Babbel stripped out-of-favour Thomas Hitzlsperger of the captaincy the former Liverpool defender admitted he had taken action against his goalkeeper.
The 40-year-old is thought to have taken extra-time with his family instead of returning to training with the club.
The former Arsenal shot-stopper still lives in Munich and commutes to Stuttgart most days although Babbel wants the players to spend more time at the training ground with the club still struggling in the relegation zone in the Bundesliga.
"The comforts of life are over for now, we are in a precarious situation and leisure and family has to bow to our dangerous situation," he told Stuttgarter Zeitung.
Meanwhile Hitzlsperger understood that the decision to take the armband away from him was for the good of the team.
"This is definitely a tough decision, but looking at the facts currently everything needs only to be because of Vfb Stuttgart," he stated.
"Everyone needs to give up his own interests for the success of the team. Everyone is required to do his best for the team's cause."
Meanwhile new captain Matthieu Delpierre was quick to reiterate his manager's message.
"We have been getting into a very precarious situation and we can only get out of this if we are acting as a team on the pitch," he declared.
"We are currently heading to have a very important fixture, playing Bochum this Saturday. We have to win this match, no matter what."
