Hearts have lost keeper Jamie MacDonald to injury after it was confirmed he has torn ankle ligaments in training.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper injured himself in training just days after impressing off the bench in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Hamilton.
Subsequent X-rays have confirmed the keeper has torn ankle ligaments, although the good news is that he does not require surgery.
MacDonald was thrilled to get a chance at the weekend but is now digesting the news that he could be on the sidelines for up to two months.
"The scans have shown that I have torn the ankle ligament, which isn't great," he told the club's official website.
"I will be looking at six to eight weeks out and that's a real downer.
"But I don't need an operation which is a bonus so I'll be working hard with the physio to get back as quickly as I can.
"It really is Sod's Law. I was delighted to get my chance at Hamilton and then this happens.
"But there are people worse off than me and I just need to try to make sure my rehab goes well and try to get over it as soon as I can."
