United boss says striker is looking 'very exciting'

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Manchester United will apply for a work permit for Senegal striker Mame Biram Diouf in January. United signed Diouf back in the summer, but immediately sent the 21-year-old back to Molde to finish the Norwegian domestic season. Diouf is now training with United and Ferguson revealed that the youngster has been catching the eye for the Premier League champions. And, rather than look elsewhere to improve his squad in the New Year, Ferguson outlined his hope that Diouf will be available for selection. "If you're talking about value then you can look at our young boy Diouf," said Ferguson. "He's been training with us and is looking very exciting. We're going to apply for a work permit in January. "That's the kind of situation we're good at - finding young players who can develop at the club and at 21 years of age he's looking very good."
