Wales ace suffers ankle ligament damage

Wolves have suffered a major blow after midfielder Dave Edwards suffered ankle ligament damage in their weekend win at Spurs. The Wales international lost his footing in the 1-0 success at White Hart Lane and was replaced just before the hour mark. Edwards is facing 10 weeks on the sidelines and that lengthy spell could be extended if he requires ankle surgery. The timing of Edwards' knock could not have come at a worse moment with Michael Kightly and Andy Keogh recently sustaining injury.

Versatility

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has been delighted with Edwards' form this season and insists the team will miss his versatility. "Losing Dave is another big blow for us," explained McCarthy. "Dave has always been available. "He is very versatile and has done very well this season. He has done everything we have asked. "Losing three players so quickly is a problem we could have done without."
