Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo has confirmed he would like to sign Izale McLeod and Steve MacLean on loan next month.
Charlton striker McLeod and Plymouth marksman MacLean are currently at Tynecastle on trial having their fitness assessed.
Laszlo knows he would like to sign the players and has only brought them in on trial to evaluate their condition before sealing loan deals.
Big chance
"I know both players, they were on my list to bring to Hearts last summer and we have a big chance to get them on loan," he told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"I want to bring them here for half a season. I don't like to have a trial and then make a decision. I already have my decision in this direction.
"We want to see that they are in good condition but they have been training with their teams and I spoke with their clubs. Both players said they would like to come to Hearts."
