Cheltenham manager Mark Yates has confirmed speculation linking the Robins to Norwich striker Jamie Cureton.
The experienced 34-year-old has only made six appearances for Norwich in League One so far this season and could be on his way out of Carrow Road to seek more first-team football.
Cureton, whose contract expires in the summer, was the Canaries' top scorer in the 2007/08 Championship campaign and Yates admits there is interest in the player.
"I have had a call from his agent, like I imagine many other managers have, and I am going to have to wheel and deal," said Yates.
Cheltenham are having a poor season following their relegation last term and they are just outside the relegation places in League Two.
New manager Yates admits there is not an abundance of money available to spend at Whaddon Road, and says he may have to offload a few players if he wants to make new additions.
"I don't think there are pots of money available, but I'll be speaking to the chairman and the board to see what we can do," he added.
"In an ideal world we'd bring in a couple to boost numbers and to improve the team as well.
"There are also a couple of young players I have been watching and speaking to managers about bringing in. We need bodies to make sure we are not too short.
"I might have to look to move one or two on; I won't discard anyone, but sometimes it's the only way to get things moving."
