Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery wants his future to be sorted out before he leaves for the World Cup in June.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a big-money move to both Chelsea and Real Madrid, although he is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2011.
Bayern president Uli Hoeness admits Ribery may have to be sold in the summer so as not to risk him leaving on a free transfer when his contract runs out, but the player does not want a long, drawn-out transfer saga.
"There's a lot of talk about Real Madrid and Chelsea," Ribery told Stade 2.
"It's true, they are two big clubs. But I don't think it will be a long soap opera.
"It will be quick. We will know before the end of the season. In about two, two and a half months' time.
"I would want to know before the World Cup."
Ribery may not necessarily decide to leave the German side and could opt to extend his contract with the club.
The France international has had a difficult time with injuries so far this season and he has been out of action for the last three months - the latest setback being a toe infection.
"My two toes are really infected," he added. "I have a really bad infection which is not letting me train normally.
"It annoys me and makes me feel really bad."
