Stoke boss Tony Pulis says he has not been contacted by Wolves counterpart Mick McCarthy about James Beattie.
Potters yet to hear from Wolves regarding striker
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis says he has not been contacted by his Wolves counterpart Mick McCarthy regarding a bid for James Beattie.
Reports have suggested that Wolves have offered £3million for Beattie, who moved to the Britannia Stadium from Sheffield United 12 months ago.
After playing a key role in keeping Stoke in the Premier League last season, Beattie has only scored in one top-flight match this term.
An alleged bust-up with Pulis after the Potters' defeat at Arsenal in early December has also led to claims the 31-year-old will be allowed to leave in the transfer window for the right price.
But Pulis has played down rumours of an imminent exit for the England international after confirming he has not been in touch with McCarthy or Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey.
"I would expect Mick to ring me if they were interested and he hasn't," Pulis told The Sentinel.
"Jez also has good contacts here at Stoke and I am not aware of anything happening with him.
"I think people are going to throw names into the hat all of the time at this time of year because of the January transfer window."
