Hull City manager Phil Brown has no intention of offloading Kevin Kilbane before the close of the transfer window.
Celtic, Ipswich and Sheffield United are just three clubs thought to have been tracking the Republic of Ireland international, who turns 33 on Monday, after chairman Alan Pearson revealed his intentions to reduce the Tigers' wage bill.
Kilbane has not started a Premier League game since October but Brown maintains the utility man is an integral part of his squad.
Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "Any bid for Kevin is news to me.
"Kevin is a great asset to the football club at the moment, he's a great professional.
"A player of his temperament, his experience, and his versatility to play in a number of positions is going to be invaluable to us between now and the end of the season."
Cousin future unclear
One player who Brown is prepared to let go though is Daniel Cousin.
The striker, who has been on African Cup of Nations duty with Gabon, had looked close to signing for either QPR or Greek side Larissa this week, but his future is now hanging in the balance with both clubs considering other options.
Brown added: "There's nothing new happening there, but we'll see.
"The Greek side that Daniel was going to, and the Championship side that Daniel was going to go to, have both cooled their interests."
