Agent plays down talks of new deal with Inter

Inter Milan defender Maicon's agent has rejected reports that Manchester City have renewed their interest in the Brazil international. City boss Roberto Mancini, who knows the full-back well from his time at the helm of the Serie A side, confirmed in December that a possible reunion would be of interest. The winter transfer window may now have closed, but that has not prevented further rumours suggesting the attack-minded right-back could be headed to Eastlands. There has been additional speculation that Jose Mourinho's side were ready to offer Maicon a new contract in a bid to retain his services. The South American's agent, Antonio Caliendo, insisted no new talks were planned with Inter over extending his client's stay and brushed aside the latest City link. Caliendo told calciomercato.it: "There is no meeting scheduled with Inter, these have already been held in the past and Maicon is very happy with Inter. "I know nothing about this alleged new link with Manchester City, these are all rumours."
