Striker back in training at Ibrox

Rangers striker Kenny Miller is hoping to make his first-team return against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup this weekend. The 30-year-old has been troubled by a hamstring injury of late but is set to resume training with his team-mates on Thursday. Providing the experienced striker emerges from training unscathed then he believes he will be available to manager Water Smith this weekend. "I will join the boys for training and hopefully come through that unscathed and be back in the plans for the St Mirren game," he told the club's official website. "I feel fine and I just want to kick on for the rest of the season." Midweek goals from Steven Davis and Lee McCulloch gave Gers a 2-0 Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final win over St Johnstone. It is the fifth successive time Rangers have reached a cup final, a feat Miller believes should not be underestimated.

Achievement

"We wanted to reach the first final of the season and the boys managed to do that," he continued. "It's a fantastic achievement to have reached five cup finals in a row and it says a lot about the squad. "To be that consistent in cup competitions is a big feat and hopefully we can take one step closer to reaching another one when we face St Mirren on Saturday. "It will be another very tough match but we will go in to it with confidence."
