Midfield anchorman relishing Bernabeu trip

Lyon midfielder Jean Makoun has expressed his delight following his stunning goal against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. The Cameroon international netted the only goal of the game at Stade de Gerland to give the French side the upper hand against the Spanish giants. The second leg will be played at the Bernabeu on 10th March and Makoun says travelling to the Spanish capital with a lead will be crucial. "I am very happy with my strike and also the performance of the team in this important game," he told skysports.com. "We needed to go to the Bernabeu in two weeks time with at least something to play for. "We know it will be difficult there but we gave ourselves a chance to show we are ready for a fight. "We can score there I think, they are very talented up front but we can play on the counter and punish their mistakes. "We know they will go for it as usual - it is great for us to be going there with a lead and not conceding at home." Before they travel to Madrid, Lyon face domestic games against Sochaux, Nice and Boulogne.
