Jesus Navas has reiterated his commitment to Sevilla despite admitting he was flattered to hear Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos would rather the Spanish giants signed Navas than Franck Ribery.
The 24-year-old winger has enjoyed another impressive season and finally made his international debut for Spain in November having previously walked out of training camps because they were too far from Seville.
Navas suffers from chronic homesickness, which scuppered a move to Chelsea in 2006, but he has been linked with a move away from Sevilla in the summer after appearing to overcome the condition.
With Real Madrid being linked with another move for Bayern Munich star Ribery in the summer, defender Sergio Ramos revealed he feels the club would do better to make a move for Navas, although the winger insists he is happy with the Andalucian outfit.
"I am happy at Sevilla and think I am doing well so that is what I am focused on," said Navas.
"We are friends and I was pleased that Sergio Ramos would prefer to play alongside me rather than Franck Ribery."
Having had to turn down the chance to play for Spain in recent seasons, Navas is now with the national team ahead of Wednesday's friendly with France in Paris and is hoping to make their World Cup squad this summer.
"I am delighted to be here," he said. "To be a part of the national team is the best.
"There is still a long way to go before the squad is chosen for South Africa and I have to continue to work hard."
