Centre-half enjoying life at Stadium of Light

John Mensah admits he is keen to turn his loan from Lyon to Sunderland into a permanent arrangement. The 27-year-old centre-half, on a season-long loan on Wearside, is enjoying Premier League football and would like to prolong his stay at the Stadium of Light. Although the Ghana international has been beset by injury problems since swapping France for the North East in the summer, he has always impressed when fit. Mensah has strung together a run of three successive starts of late and should he continue in a similar vein between now and the campaign's close, a deal could be struck to keep him in England. "I've been to so many clubs and I cannot say I have to stay or I have to go," he told SAFC TV. "I like Sunderland. They treat me well and keep me happy. The physios work hard on my fitness and give me more confidence to come back fit and give everything possible for the team. "I don't feel anything bad and I am happy to stay, but that depends on my agent, the club and the manager."
