Midfield starlet becomes latest McDiarmid Park casualty

St Johnstone have been dished another injury blow with the news that Kevin Moon is facing up to eight months on the sidelines. The 22-year-old midfielder is out with cruciate ligament damage picked up during the Perth side's 1-0 home win over Aberdeen on Tuesday. Saints, who have 11 players out ahead of their trip to Celtic on Saturday, are down to the bare bones but boss Derek McInnes had words of comfort for Moon. "This isn't the career-threatening injury it was 20 years ago," McInnes told The Daily Record "Kevin will be back fitter and stronger and will go on to have a top career." McInnes' selection hell has been compounded further as on-loan striker Cillian Sheridan will also miss Parkhead clash at the weekend as he is ineligible to play against his parent club.
