Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has confirmed the club are looking to off-load midfielder Albert Riera.

Winger courting Russian interest following outburst

Albert Riera could be on his way out of Liverpool within the next two weeks after manager Rafa Benitez confirmed the club were looking to off-load the midfielder. Riera angered Benitez by voicing criticism at the manager's style, claiming his Spanish compatriot did not communicate with players. The 27-year-old described Liverpool as a "sinking ship" and was promptly suspended by the club, with Benitez confirming the player he signed from Espanyol in 2008 for £8million would be leaving the Merseysiders. Riera - whose wife is Russian - is likely to join a Russian club on loan as CSKA and Spartak Moscow are believed to be chasing his signature. The Russian transfer window remains open until 8th April, meaning the winger would be free to exit Anfield. Benitez said: "We are working with different clubs trying to find a solution at this moment. We will try to do some business if we can and see what happens."
