Brian Jensen has issued a rally-cry to Burnley's fans to "drown" out Blackburn in Sunday's derby.
The Claret shot-stopper has been trying to play down the all-Lancashire clash, but Brian Laws' side are desperate for points to maintain their Premier League status and defeat to local rivals Rovers could prove decisive in the relegation battle.
Burnley have not tasted victory against their neighbours in 31 years, but Jensen - who looked nervy in the 3-2 defeat at Ewood Park earlier in the campaign - insists they have to treat the game like any other.
He said bluntly in The Sun: "If we go into it thinking it is a big derby game with so much riding on it we will be sh***ing ourselves, especially the younger guys.
"You can't get away from the tension in the build-up. I do get sweaty palms, like everyone else, but the important thing is to keep telling yourself to treat it like any game.
"We have to stay calm and keep our focus, or we will be like wrecks all the way through.
"Everyone knows the match at Blackburn wasn't the best for us, but we have to forget about that and make sure we play a lot better.
Jensen, who has been a mainstay between the Burnley sticks this season, has called on the Turf Moor faithful to silence the travelling Blackburn supporters.
"It is good that this game is at home because their fans will want us to mess up, but there will be 20,000 of our supporters to drown them out. We really need them to get behind us."
