Stoke boss Tony Pulis believes managers at bigger clubs are too quick to make excuses when their sides underperform.
The Potters boss singled out Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini as a prime example of those shifting the blame.
Pulis feels the Italian should look more upon his side's shortcomings when finding reasons why they haven't achieved the result they desired.
Stoke played City three times in 11 days in February, holding them to a draw twice before knocking them out of the FA Cup at the Britannia Stadium.
Pulis claims that, on all three occasions, Mancini refused to accept that his side were below par, instead electing to criticise the Potters' style of play.
Just accept it
"He (Mancini) said when you go to Stoke the ball is always in the air," he told
The Sentinel.
"But they had 60 per cent of the ball in both games against them recently.
"What disappoints me is managers dragging us into it. They try to turn it on us because of their own inadequacy, instead of saying 'yes, we weren't at it today and Stoke deserved to win'."
"If you get a result against one of the so-called bigger teams, there's always excuses, instead of holding their hands up," he added.
"Even Man City can have an off day with £250million worth of talent. Just say so, that's all I ask.
"It isn't just Mancini. The perception is that if you get beat by a so-called smaller club, you've got to talk rubbish."
