Borussia Dortmund are refusing to meet Lech Poznan's valuation of Robert Lewandowski.
The Bundesliga outfit have expressed an interest in the Poland international, with a view to snapping him up over the summer.
They are aware that a number of other clubs are also courting the 21-year-old striker, with Genoa and Blackburn reported to be among them, and had hoped to steal a march on their rivals.
However, they have been put off by Poznan's asking price and admit a deal is far from guaranteed.
Demands
"The lad would be happy to join our club at the end of the season, that is a fact," Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc told
Sport 1.
"But we are not going to meet the demands of Lech Poznan. They are looking for too much money.
"We are in no hurry. The Bundesliga season will be ending in two weeks time and it will only be then that we will know where we have finished.
"That will then have some influence on the way we look to do business over the summer."
