Fergie - Evra's sensational

Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra's form as 'sensational'.

United boss delighted with full-back's form this season

Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed Patrice Evra's form as 'sensational' and believes no-one has matched the Manchester United full-back's consistency. Evra has been the one constant in United's unsettled defence this season and he has appeared in all 36 of the club's Premier League games to date. The France international, who was forced off in Saturday's win over Tottenham Hotspur due to illness, was also recognised by his peers after being named in the PFA Team of the Year. Ferguson has been delighted with the former Monaco defender's performances this season, particularly given the disruption to United's back-line.

Sensational

"The form of Evra has been sensational all season," said Ferguson. "He is the one player who has not missed any games. "We rested him at Blackburn, but he still came on as sub, because I think he needed the break then. "He came back tremendously last week. If you look at the rest of the back four, they have all had scattered appearances. "There's no-one who has been near Evra's consistency - no-one! "We have done remarkably well to be in the picture despite the handicaps of the back four players being injured."
