Peterborough have informed defender Exodus Geohaghon that he will be among a number of players released this summer.
The towering centre-half only joined Posh in November 2009, following former Kettering boss Mark Cooper to London Road.
He has, however, struggled to adapt to the pace of life in the Championship and has been told he no longer figures in the club's future plans.
Peterborough are currently preparing themselves for life back in League One, having slipped out of the second tier, and new boss Gary Johnson is keen to mould the squad in his own image as quickly as possible.
Johnson said: "I have assessed the squad here and you have to be fair to people.
"If you feel they are not going to be in your plans you have to tell them.
"This gives them an opportunity to find pastures new where they will be playing regularly in someone's first team."
Billy Crook, Sam Gaughran and Danny Blanchett have all left the club in the last few days, while left-backs Jamie Day and Tom Williams will leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season.
