Northampton Town striker Adebayo Akinfenwa has hinted that he could commit to the club at the end of the season.
Akinfenwa has netted 16 goals so far this term and has helped the Cobblers to within grasp of a play-off place in League Two.
The 27-year-old is out of contract in the summer and speculation has mounted that he could be tempted to move away from Sixfields.
However, Akinfenwa says he is happy at Northampton and that he would be open to signing a new deal in the summer.
"The club know that I like everything about the place, from the fans through to the manager, and I believe it is second to none," he told Skysports.com.
"At the moment I just want to concentrate on helping to get the club into the play-offs and making sure that the season goes on longer than the 8th May.
"We will then assess the situation from then, but I'm still talking to both the chairman and manager about it on a daily basis and we are making positive strives.
"Obviously every player wants to play at the highest level possible, but I'd love to play at another level with this club because it is such a good club.
"At the end of the season I will sit down with my family and discuss what is best for me and then reassess the situation, but hopefully Northampton Town will be a League One club next season."
