Sheffield Wednesday keeper Lee Grant is hoping that the sell-out crowd at Hillsborough on Sunday will give them edge in the club's biggest game for years.
The Owls face a final day relegation decider with Crystal Palace, needing all three points to survive, whilst the visitors only need a point to maintain their Championship status.
The game quickly sold out, with a full house expected, as the Owls fans get behind their side and Grant believes the supporters could have a massive part to play in Sunday's tense encounter.
"The news that the game will be a sell out means that the atmosphere will play a big part in it and that can only benefit us," he told
Skysports.com.
"Hopefully, our fans will create a hostile atmosphere for the Crystal Palace players and give us as big an advantage as possible.
"They really can be our 12th man and can have a huge say it what happens on Sunday.
"It may well boil down to who handles the pressure best, but it is too difficult to predict at this stage.
"The type of characters that we have in our squad should be able to handle that, but you never know until the first whistle blows.
"We are mentally ready for the big occasion and I'm sure we've got the right characters in our squad to handle it."
Potential blow
Both sides once graced the top-tier of English football, but one will be playing League One football next season and the former Derby stopper knows how big a blow it will be for whichever club loses out on Sunday.
"Obviously, relegation would be a huge blow for either club because no one wants to go down," he added.
"The whole season boils down to one match and that will be tough to take for the side that doesn't prevail.
"They are two big clubs, with huge fanbases and great stadiums that really deserve to be hosting Championship football next season, but only one of them will be and it is our job to make sure that Hillsborough is."
