Barnsley have swooped to sign Wolves defender Jason Shackell on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Shackell has spent the past season on loan at Barnsley's Championship rivals Doncaster Rovers, making 23 appearances during his time at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He had not featured for Wolves since January last year and has now secured a permanent move away from Molineux.
The 26-year-old, who has not played since February, admits Barnsley manager Mark Robins was a major factor in his decision to accept a deal at Oakwell.
"I am delighted to be here," Shackell told the club's official website. "I feel that this is the right place to be at this stage of my career.
"I met with Mark Robins and he is really ambitious and wants to push on with Barnsley.
"He was keen to get me in and his enthusiasm, ambition and drive really made this feel like the right place for me.
"I am ambitious; I want to be pushing on in my career and I feel this is the right place to do that."
Robins added: "I am delighted to have signed Jason. He has proven himself to be a more than capable Championship player and is a leader on the pitch.
"I am looking forward to a long and successful working relationship with him here at Barnsley FC."
