Chelsea captain John Terry is keen for Joe Cole to agree a new deal with the Premier League champions and FA Cup winners.
The gifted midfielder played only a bit-part role as the Blues claimed an historic double, finding it hard to force his way into Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI after a serious knee injury.
England international Cole is out of contract in the summer and his status as a free agent has alerted the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.
The former West Ham man would not be drawn on his future, but team-mate Terry is keen for the mercurial playmaker to stay at Stamford Bridge.
He told Sky Sports News: "Nobody wants Joe Cole to leave, we all want him to stay and we're confident he will do."
Terry has now set his sights on filling the one remaining gap in the club's trophy cabinet, but would not allow that ambition to overshadow this season's achievements.
He added: "[The Champions League] is the one that's eluded us in the last few years so that's the big target.
"We know that Roman [Abramovich] wants that, we know the players want that. This is just a taste of that, if we won that it would put us right up there with the greats.
"But we said yesterday in the dressing room, we'll take the double over the Champions League all day long.
"It's never been done in the club's history and we're so proud that this group of players, for generations and generations, is never going to be forgotten."
