Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido has expressed his desire to bring winger Cleveland Taylor back to the club on a permanent basis.
The Brentford wide-man impressed whilst on loan at the Pirelli Stadium last season, scoring four goals in 24 appearances.
However, since he returned to Griffin Park he has been transfer listed and told that his future lies elsewhere, which has alerted the Brewers to the situation.
The former Canada international told skysports.com that bringing back Taylor would make his summer search for a right winger much easier.
"I'd love to sign Cleveland Taylor because he did a tremendous job for us last season, but if that falls through then we will need a right-sided midfielder," he said.
"Cleveland isn't wanted by Brentford, so I'd like to sit down with him and see if we can bring him here, but there are still talks to be had between Brentford and Cleveland before that happens.
"When the time is right to sit down with Cleveland then we will because he is a character that I would like to keep within our squad."
Peschisolido previously revealed that his priority this summer was to bring in an experienced centre-half to lead the defence next term, and with the signing of Darren Moore he has already done so, but he insists there is a lot more work to do.
"Our main priority was getting someone like Darren Moore in and I can't stress how big a coup that is for the club to get a player of his quality and leadership," he added.
"Now I have identified a few other areas that I'd like to strengthen in, but they depend largely on what happens regarding the players we had here on loan this season."
