Australia ace has no concerns over defensive tactics

Tim Cahill insists Australia have not been affected by criticism from Germany head coach Joachim Low. Germany's boss hinted the Socceroos might adopt defensive tactics during this summer's World Cup finals. Low stated Australia would be anything but a 'spectacle' in South Africa. Everton's Cahill, who is expected to be one of his nation's biggest attacking threats, insists his team-mates have brushed off the criticism. Australia begin their Group D campaign against Germany and the 30-year-old is happy to be underdogs against Low's men.

Throw stones

"Let them throw stones, we'll just cop it on the chin," he said of Low's comments. "It definitely doesn't bother us. "There is a lot of talk about the Germans talking us down and how well they are going to do and for us that is a positive. "We are going into the game as underdogs and hopefully try to make our imprint on the game as soon as possible. "What do they want - this is a World Cup, it's one of the biggest sporting events in the world so for us as long as we stay defensively compact and then hit them on the break and see what happens, then that is the main thing for us."
