Miroslav Klose has dashed any suggestion that he could return to FC Kaiserslautern this summer.

Bayern striker dismisses talk of a return to former employers Miroslav Klose has dashed any suggestion that he could return to FC Kaiserslautern this summer. Reports have suggested that the Germany international is unhappy at a lack of playing time at Bayern Munich and is considering moving on. Among those believed to be in his thoughts are Kaiserslautern, the club who helped him to launch his distinguished career. Klose, though, insists there is no truth in the rumours and claims he is determined to fight for a starting berth at Bayern. "I am definitely not going to join Kaiserslautern, this has never been an option for me," the 32-year-old striker told Deutsche Presseagentur. "I am going to play the World Cup first and then I will resume with Bayern Munich. I really enjoy being a player at Bayern and I am enjoying working with an excellent manager in Louis van Gaal. "I am still of the opinion that I have the ability to win back a regular role in the Bayern line-up."

History

Meanwhile, Klose has taken time out to poke fun at England, who Germany could meet in the last 16 of this summer's World Cup. He claims Germany, who won their opening game against Australia 4-0 while England could only muster a 1-1 draw with USA, are more determined than ever to land the global crown and has warned the Three Lions not to get in their way. "There is so much history between the two sides and there are some old scores to be settled too. "The 5-1 home defeat in qualification for the World Cup finals in 2002 still haunts us. Then there is always 1966. "But we have absolutely nothing to fear. Why should we? You can see from the game against Australia that we are determined to go far in this tournament." On the possibility of meeting England in the knockout stages, Klose joked: "If we have to play England we know if it goes to a shootout we will beat them."
