Yeovil Town manager Terry Skiverton has confirmed the club are in advanced talks to sign Arsenal's teenage striker Luke Freeman on loan.
The Glovers have close ties with The Gunners, having secured Luke Ayling on loan from the north Londoners last season.
Skiverton says a deal has been agreed in principle and that he hopes to have positive news on the transfer front next week.
Town's manager spotted Freeman in the same game in which he saw Ayling last season and believes the talented prospect will bring something different to his side.
"I'm trying to bring Luke in and it's at an advanced stage," he told the club's official website. "It's agreed in principle for him to join us and I'm hoping to hear some news next week.
"I first talked to Arsenal about Luke at the end of last season when I went to watch Luke Ayling. He was playing in the same game and I was really impressed by his movement and eye for goal.
"Luke would give us something a bit different in the forward areas and he's already experienced League football with Gillingham, so he knows what to expect.
"I think there's been a ripple effect because clubs have seen how young players have come to us and continued their career development in the right way."
Meanwhile, Skiverton has revealed Keiran Murtagh is linking up with the team for pre-season in a bid to win a contract.
"Keiran wants to come back and prove he is worth a place in the squad. I can't keep players on potential every year, they have to show an improvement," he concluded.
