Palace boss rules out move for former Ipswich keeper

Crystal Palace boss George Burley has ruled out a move for former Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright. The Eagles had been linked with a move for the out-of-contract shot-stopper after taking his namesake defender David from the Tractor Boys on Wednesday. But new Palace boss Burley is focusing all of his attentions on ensuring regular keeper Julian Speroni is at Selhurst Park next season. Burley told the Croydon Advertiser: "I haven't spoken to Richard. We're only looking for a number two and I don't think he would be interested in coming as number two. "Julian Speroni is very much a Crystal Palace player. I know there has been speculation about a possible transfer but I haven't heard anything." Meanwhile, Fergus McGovern has put pen to paper on becoming an associate director at the club for the next two years.
