Rising star Thomas Muller has taunted Diego Maradona after Germany's 4-0 demolition of Argentina in the World Cup quarter-finals.
The Bayern Munich midfielder only made his full international last March, but has taken this summer's finals by storm after scoring four goals at the tournament.
Muller's maiden outing for Germany's senior team came in a friendly against Maradona's Argentina and after the match the South American refused to sit in a press conference with the youngster because he mistook him for a ball boy.
But after scoring the first goal to spark Saturday's victory over Argentina, having also netted twice when dumping out England, Muller thinks that he will have made more of an impression.
He said in the Daily Express: "As for Maradona, well this is special for me. I don't think that he thinks I am a ball boy anymore.
"I don't think he knew me back then, but he does now."
Muller is also still in shock that Germany are preparing for a semi-final against European champions Spain after defeating Argentina with such ease.
"This was an extremely satisfying day," he added. "Argentina couldn't cope with us. We played with tempo, pace and aggression and were by far the better team.
"We beat Argentina deservedly and that's what matters. I still can't believe that we beat them 4-0."
Muller will miss the meeting with Spain through suspension having collected a second booking for a debatable handball against Argentina.
