Swindon defender agrees three-year contract to join Poyet's side
Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal to sign defender Gordon Greer from League One rivals Swindon Town.
The Seagulls have been chasing the centre-half since the end of last season and had previously failed with two offers - the latter of which was in the region of £250,000.
An undisclosed bid has now been accepted by Swindon and Greer has agreed a three-year contract to move to the Withdean Stadium.
Greer will undergo a medical on Monday before finalising his move and Brighton boss Gus Poyet is looking forward to having the 29-year-old in his squad.
Experienced
"Everyone knows we were looking for an experienced centre-half, and Gordon is the type of player we wanted," Poyet told the club's
official website.
"He is an experienced defender, and had a very good season at Swindon, helping them reach the play-offs.
"I am looking forward to seeing him on Monday for his medical and to complete all the paperwork."
Greer joined Swindon on a two-year contract from Doncaster Rovers last summer and was a near ever-present in Danny Wilson's side as the club missed out on promotion via the play-offs.
