Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet is keen to sign Radostin Kishishev and has also handed Dutch winger Kevin Bobson a trial.
Experienced Bulgarian midfielder Kishishev has been training with Brighton in pre-season and featured in the first half of Saturday's friendly against Burgess Hill Town.
Poyet worked with Kishishev at Leeds United and is eager to agree a deal to have the 35-year-old in his squad during the coming season.
"Kishishev is an outstanding player," Poyet told the club's official website.
"He knows the game, and understands the game. He knows what is needed to play in different positions, and he brings in a lot of experience.
"It's down to the chairman, but we are going to try and have a talk with him and offer him a contract. He can be a key player for us in the future."
Former Ajax youngster Bobson also played against Burgess Hill and Poyet admits the 30-year-old is currently short of fitness.
He added: "Kevin came from Holland and we had some good reports, but I think he came in at the wrong time to be fair, because he is not at the same level of fitness.
"I'll talk more about him later, but we have a decision to make."
