Club president Robin Leproux believes Stephane Sessegnon would have a "magic" season with Paris St Germain if his dream move fails to materialise.
The Benin international has made it clear he wishes to leave PSG this summer after two years at the Parc des Princes.
Reports claim the midfield maestro has already made his mind up to move to Premier League and has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham.
Arsenal are also thought to be in the running if Cesc Fabregas' sale to Barcelona goes through, while PSG would be willing to let Sessegnon go for a fee of around 12million euros (£10m).
But even if a switch is not agreed before the start of the season, Leproux is confident the transfer saga will not affect Sessegnon if he has to remain with PSG at least until the January transfer window.
"I spoke to Stephane before the holidays," he told RMC radio.
"He is a great player, he has fantastic qualities and makes fans dream on the field.
"He is capable of a magic season for us and I told him that. We know we can count on him."
The former Creteil man has made 63 appearances for PSG since joining from Le Mans in the summer of 2008, scoring eight goals.
