Scott Griffiths insists he is not interested in returning to former club Dagenham & Redbridge, despite being told he is surplus to requirements at Peterborough United.
The 24-year-old full-back joined Posh from the Daggers in January after impressing during a loan spell, but has been told by manager Gary Johnson that he can leave the club if the right offer comes his way.
However, the London-born defender, who made over 200 appearances for the Daggers, says that he still hopes to force his way back into Johnson's plans for this season.
"I haven't really thought about what sort of offer would persuade me to leave if I'm honest, but Dagenham are always a good side and I have a lot of respect for John Still as a manager," Griffiths told skysports.com.
"They have done really well to make it into League One and they have assembled a squad of some very good players, but hopefully I can be a part of playing against them this season instead.
"I'm starting to get my fitness back properly now and the new boys that have come in seem to be decent lads, so I'm just looking forward to getting some more game time.
"I got my first taste of pre-season friendlies against West Ham and hopefully I can use these games to impress the manager."
Peterborough have wasted little time in strengthening the squad for this season, with eight new recruits brought in by Johnson, and Griffiths is still hoping to be a part of the club's ambitious plans.
He added: "The players that we've brought in have improved the side and I think that a push for promotion back into the Championship is definitely the manager's objective.
"He has got some big plans for this season and it is always good to hear that people want to move forward.
"I still want to be a part of that and hopefully if I keep plugging away in training I can force the gaffer into changing his mind."
