Swansea are prepared to offer a contract to trialist Kemy Agustien despite seeing him pick up a knee injury.
It is feared that the 23-year-old Dutchman could be sidelined for up to two months, but he is due to undergo a scan on Monday in an effort to determine the severity of the knock.
He sustained the problem during the Swans' 1-0 defeat to ADO Den Haag on Saturday, forcing him to limp off during the second half.
It has been suggested that he has damaged ligaments, which would lead to a lengthy spell on the treatment table, but Swans chairman Huw Jenkins insists the club are still keen to reach an agreement with the former Holland U21 international.
"We are still waiting on information on what Kemy has done but if you are asking me what we are going to do with the player, the answer is that we are very keen to bring him in," Jenkins told thisissouthwales.co.uk.
"I have spoken with his agent and we more or less got an agreement on a contract for Kemy. Both parties are trying hard to make sure it works out well and we are hopeful he will soon be in Swansea working to get fit."
Swans boss Brendan Rodgers added: "He is one we are looking to sign and nothing that happened on Saturday is going to change that.
"He has got many good years ahead of him and I think he can be a real asset to us."
