Lions striker focused on scoring goals in Championship

Millwall striker Steve Morison insists talk about him moving to Championship rivals Hull City is completely untrue. The former Stevenage Borough striker impressed during his debut season in the Football League, notching 23 goals as he helped guide the Lions to League One promotion via the play-offs. Hull were reported to have made an offer for the 26-year-old over the weekend, but Morison has stressed that it is purely speculation. "I came into the training ground on Saturday and was told about the story by one of the lads," Morison told skysports.com. "That was literally the first time I had heard about it, so it shocked me, but that is all it was really, simply paper talk. "I haven't been informed by the club or my agent about any club putting an offer in for me, so as far as I know there was nothing in it." Morison has gone from playing non-league football to the Championship in just over a year and is relishing the chance to test himself in the second tier this season. He added: "I started quite slowly when I joined Millwall at the start of last season and it took me a while to find my feet, but once I found them I have developed gradually ever since and have gone on from strength to strength and I hope to continue to do that in the Championship this season. "I can't wait to test myself against the best defences that this division has to offer and hopefully both myself and Millwall will come better off on more occasions than we don't."
