Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has expressed his sympathy for Willo Flood after the luckless midfielder's latest injury.
The 25-year-old suffered a dislocated knee after an accidental collision with team-mate Matthew Bates in the 3-1 defeat to Ipswich on Saturday.
The match was Flood's comeback game from a serious knee ligament injury sustained against Cardiff in February and afterwards Strachan bemoaned the midfielder's bad luck.
But, on a more positive note, the Boro boss was pleased to see Bates return after the fourth serious knee injury of his career.
Strachan told the club's official website: "We'll not see Willo for a long time because that's a bad injury.
"The rest of us think we've had a bad day but he's had a horrific day.
"He's well loved and a character in the dressing room so he's been very unlucky, especially having just come back from another long-term injury.
"But it was good to see Matthew Bates back because he's had a long, hard road to recovery."
