Goalkeeper recalled by St Andrews club
Coventry City have lost Colin Doyle, just a day after signing him on loan, after the injury to Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Doyle joined the Sky Blues on Tuesday on a one-month deal and made his debut in their Carling Cup defeat to Morecambe.
But the Blues have been forced to cut short the shot-stopper's spell at the Ricoh Arena after discovering Foster picked up a back injury whilst in England training ahead of their friendly against Hungary on Wednesday.
Birmingham have not yet ruled Foster out of the Premier League opener against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday and expect to know the extent of the injury within the next 24 hours.
But manager Alex McLeish is short of cover, with Northern Ireland veteran Maik Taylor the only other senior goalkeeper in the squad, so he has elected to recall the 25-year-old Irishman.
