Blackpool hero Marlon Harewood admits he and his team-mates are on cloud nine following their emphatic introduction to the Premier League.
Man of the match Harewood netted a brace and set up the opener in a shock 4-0 win for the Seasiders over Wigan at the DW Stadium.
Few gave the newcomers a chance against the Latics but the away side were three goals to the good by half time thanks to an inspirational 45 minutes from debutant Harewood.
The former Aston Villa striker set up Gary Taylor-Fletcher for the opener before scoring two goals in five minutes to put his new club in dreamland.
"It's a great start for the lads, we're all buzzing off it being the first game of the season in the Premier League, It's a great start for us," Harewood told Sky Sports.
"From a personal point of view, as a striker, you're always pleased when you score goals but it's just nice to help the boys and we've got the first win under our belt and we have to carry on from here."
Harewood only joined the Bloomfield Road club on Wednesday and was thrown into the starting line up immediately without disappointing, for which he has his team-mates to thank.
"It's great, the lads are fantastic. My first day, when I arrived, the lads were very warming and great in training and everything.
"That made my mind up right away and then obviously the gaffer had to try to sort something out and he did," added Harewood, who trained with the club as a free agent before a deal was agreed.
Despite the perfect start to life back in the top tier, many will still label Blackpool favourites for the drop, and Harewood accepts that is part of the life of a newly promoted team.
He said: "When you come up from the Championship you always get written off, but the lads have a point to prove and one of the main reasons we won today was through enjoyment.
"I'm just happy to be playing. At Villa it didn't really happen for me, that sometimes happens players. Now I've got a chance to rectify that and go and enjoy myself at Blackpool."
